The Trinity – God The Holy Spirit

Acts13: 2 – While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
Matthew 3:16 – And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on Him.
1 Corinthians 6:19&20 – Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

God knows that we are but little children so He has made it possible for us to always be in contact with Him. He did this by making the Holy Spirit part of us and us in Him. this way we can always be in direct communication with Him. In John 15:26 Jesus tells us that when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
God Loves us so much that His Spirit is always with His children.

The Trinity – God the Son

Isaiah 9:6 –  For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Mark 10:45 – For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.
John 1:1-5 – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John 1:14 – And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 14:6 – Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

The Trinity – God the Father

Malachi 2:10 Father of All – Have we not all one Father? Has not one God created us? Why then are we faithless to one another, profaning the covenant of our fathers?

John 1:12-13 – But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

Romans 3:29 – Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also,

Matthew 3: 17 Father of Jesus – and lo, a voice out of the heavens, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Romans 8: 15 Father of those who are Born Again – For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

70th Week of Daniel Part 1

Four Disciples John, James, Peter and Andrew came to Jesus and asked about His Return. His answer is found in the Matthew, Mark, Luke. Here in the Book of Matthew chapter 24. We have what is called The Olivet Discourse verses 3-8.

3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8All these are the beginning of sorrows.


The event that ties Matthew and Daniel together Matthew 24: 15-16

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16 Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains:

You will notice that the passage talks about the Sabbath day. This tells you that Jesus is talking about the Jews.

17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:


And finally we get to the Great Tribulation.

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.


 As we start into Daniel we know that Daniel is a prophet because Jesus says so and from the Book of Titus 1:2 …which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began. This tells us that Daniel’s words are true.


70 Weeks of Daniel

Chapter 9 24-27


24Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

25Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

26And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

27And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

As we look at Daniel Chapter 9 verse 24 there a couple things that we notice. First this is written to the Jews and second there are six things spoken of in the verse and none of them have happened yet.

For our purposes when need to know and understand the first two words “Seventy weeks”. If we take a look back at Gen 29:27 (Fulfill her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.) also seen in 2 Chronicles 36:21 (To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.) As seen by these examples Seventy weeks = Seventy weeks of years.


As we turn our attention to verse 25 first we see (Know therefore and understand). This is a command.

(that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.) As we break this apart we have the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, the street and the wall even in troublous times. We have a 7-week time frame,

(17,640 days) and a 62-week time frame (156,240 days). We will use the 69-week time frame. From the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem and its wall until the Messiah the Prince, now there were 4 commandments to rebuild Jerusalem. 3 had to do with just rebuilding Jerusalem and only one included the wall:

1) Cyrus, 537 B.C.                          Ezra 1:2-4

2) Darius                                   Ezra 6:1-5,8,12

3) Artaxerxes 458 B.C.                Ezra 7:11-26

4) Artaxerxes 445 B.C.                Neh 2: 5-8,17,18 + wall on March 14.

After the week was up to restore and rebuild Jerusalem we start the 62 weeks until Messiah the Prince.

Why not King. Jesus sits on His Father’s throne not David’s that Jesus will sit on during the Millennium years. There are many times in which the people in and around Jerusalem try to proclaim Him King but He declines. He states “Mine hour has not come yet.” But on April 6, 32 A.D., (69 weeks of years.) not only does He let them but He also sets it up, fulfilling Zech 9: 9.

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Luke 19:38 Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. Luke is quoting from  Ps 118; 26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.






The Binding of Isaac – The Akedah

A story from the Bible wherein God asks Abraham to sacrifice his son, Isaac, on Mount Moriah. The account states that Abraham “bound Isaac, his son” before placing him on the altar.

This is a very special section of the bible, it is the first time the word “love” and “obey” is used. The “law of first-mention” is the principle in the interpretation of Scripture, which states that the first mention or occurrence of a subject in Scripture establishes an unchangeable pattern, with that subject remaining unchanged in the mind of God throughout Scripture. This passage has a double meaning, one actually and one prophetic. We have a comparison a story about two fathers and two sons. Abraham and his son Isaac, and God and His Son Jesus.

Let’s look at an overview of this chapter, Genesis 22, we start out with God testing Abraham by telling Abraham to take his only son (from God’s point of view, Isaac was the son of a promise.) who you love and go to the land of Moriah, (a 3 day journey). Some believe that from a prophetic stand point that Abraham knew he was acting out prophecy since God had promised that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the heavens. Therefore when Abraham was told to offer Isaac up to God, (Isaac was a gift from God and now it was time to give him back.) Abraham knew that if Isaac died it would be up to God to bring him back from the dead to fulfill God’s promise to him.

Abraham took two of his young men (the number of witness) with him and Isaac split the wood and then started on a 3 day journey When they got to the base of Mount Moriah Abraham lifted his eyes and told the servants to wait there while he and his son Isaac went up to worship and then would return. Abraham then laid the wood on Isaac, (symbolic of Jesus caring His cross), took his knife and the fire and the two of them left together.

As they walked together Isaac turned to his father and asked where the lamb was for the burnt offering. Abraham answered and stated that the Lord would provide himself the lamb for an offering, so they went on together. When they got to the place that God had told him Abraham built an altar, laid the wood on it, bound Isaac and then laid him on the altar as well.

Think about this for a minute the mindset that was in play here. Your father has just told you the God will provide the burnt offering and when your father builds the altar he has you lay on it. Now from the language in the bible one might think that Isaac is a young lad and he just did what his father told him to do but in actuality Isaac was at least 32 years old and as in Luke 22:42 Isaac like Jesus has a mindset of “not my will, but yours, be done.” One could see here how they both obeyed their father.

Then Abraham stretched out his hand holding the knife to slay his son. (Do you have that much faith in God if you were in that situation?) But straight away the Angel of the Lord called to Abraham and said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”

13And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son Isaac.

14So Abraham called the name of that place, “The LORD will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the LORD it shall be provided.”

15And the angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time from heaven

16and said, “By myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,

17I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies,

18and in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.”


It is believed that on the very spot where Abraham offered his son Isaac, 2,000 years later that God the Father offered His only Son Jesus. Mount Moriah is 777 ( seven is the number of completion) meters above sea level and this is significant when you study the way numbers are used through out the scriptures.

So Abraham returned to his young men and they went back to Beersheba. Why is Isaac not mentioned? As matter of fact Isaac doesn’t show back up in the scriptures until Genesis 24:62 Isaac came from the way of Beer Lahai Roi (otherwise know as the well of living water.) He was there to meet his bride Rebekah (who is a type of the Church). Who is bringing Rebekah? Abraham’s eldest servant Eliezer (and his name means comforter).


Abraham          –          The Patriarch acting as the Father

Isaac            –                The son acting as Jesus

Eliezer          –               The eldest servant acting as the comforter or the Holy  Spirit

Rebekah          –           The bride acting as the Church or the bride of Christ.

Jude Verses 22-25

  1. Who are some to have compassion on?
  2. What is the criteria for making a distinction?
  3. Could this be a form of witnessing?
  4. What is to save with fear?
  5. Here we see mercy used for the last time, where was the first time?
  6. Is this fire the unquenchable fire?
  7. If so, how would you pull someone out of the fire?
  8. What is hating even the garment defiles by flesh?
  9. How do you do it?
  10. How does He keep you from stumbling?
  11. Are you faultless?
  12. If not, how can He present you faultless?
  13. What comes to mind when you think about the presence of His glory?
  14. Who’s joy?
  15. Compare verse 25 to Heb 1:3?
  16. What does wise mean?
  17. What does God our Savior mean to you?
  18. Putting together verse 25 & 25 together how do you feel after reading them?
  19. Amen?

Jude Verses 20 and 21

  1. Here is the word “beloved” again. What is the difference between how Jude uses the word and how you would if you were to use it?
  2. What does “building yourselves up on your most holy faith” mean to you?
  3. Could this be called spiritual building”?
  4. Where else in the bible do you find ‘spiritual building?
  5. When you look at these two verses, what is the contrast to verse 19?
  6. Do you pray in the Holy Spirit?
  7. What does it mean to you?
  8. Do you have a choice when it comes to the ‘love of God’?
  9. If you are His, can you be out of the ‘love of God’?
  10. Should we look for mercy?
  11. If so, why?
  12. What does unto eternal life mean to you?
  13. Can God grant you mercy apart from Jesus Christ?

Jude Verses 16 – 19

  1. The word murmurs is used as a noun here. Where else in the bible is it used like this?
  2. Where do you find examples of complainers in the bible?
  3. “Walking according to their own lusts” is found where else in the New Testament?
  4. What is the content of those passages?
  5. To you, what does “their mouth great swelling words” mean?
  6. What comes to your mind when you hear “flattering people to gain advantage”?
  7. Is this something you might have or might do?
  8. Why when specific words, are spoken by certain people that they carry more weight than when others do?
  9. When Jude talks about  “the beloved”, who is he referring to?
  10. Who else in the bible has been referred to as “beloved”?
  11. Did they or do they have special roles?
